Product Licensing

Previously we have only done a few licensing deals, the main one being with Atom Entertainment, and our experiences with them have been great. When licensing the games we have licensed to them, we did do some changes in all the games. In the racing game we changed the car, and reversed the track, and did some work on the handling of the car. In the FPS (shooting) game, we designed new levels and changed the “quickness” of the gun fire, but left the graphics and players “intact”.

The reasoning behind these changes are based upon the need to deliver a game that is not just a copy of a game seen before, but gives the user and licensee a “new” and improved game that will better suit their purpose. In many cases this will also mean that we do some upgrades to the game based upon newer developments we have made in the same genre, something you might also notice in the versions we have licensed to Atom Entertainment (handling, shooting ability etc.).

The point of getting into the changes made to the games, as well as the updating we have done, is that we can do some simple changes to the games we have developed, to make them a bit more unique, and thereby differentiate them enough to be perceived as “new” games, rather than just “the same game” but now featured under yet another domain. I must admit that to us in Inludo, on a professional and personal level, it is also a lot more appealing to create something different, as we believe in making sure our clients gets the best value for their money, and effort, when dealing with Inludo.

This leads us to the inevitable question of costs and terms. That will depend on what we need to do to the games in order to make them “fit” the clients need. We can do exclusive licensing, or non-exclusive licensing. And the cost of licensing could be either a one off fee, and annual fee, or based upon revenue generated (if the game is part of a revenue scheme of sorts). I am sorry that we cannot be “figurative” in terms of costs, but as soon as we know more about what is needed, and what has to be done on our end, it will all be fairly easy for us to assess cost and terms.

An alternative is to create a new and original game, based upon one of our existing games, or from scratch. It all comes down to what one wants to achieve with the game(s). We have years of experience with games, and relating them to business ventures, be it simple branding or deep seeded messages conveyed through the use of a game, and we believe our experiences can be invaluable in order to make sure that every client ends up with the best possible solution.
